TinyBright is made for young children. It is designed to comply with children’s privacy laws such as the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU/UK GDPR by the simplest possible means: not collecting personal data at all.
What we collect
Nothing personal. TinyBright does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, location, contacts, or any other personal information. There is no account and no sign-in.
What stays on your device
So the game can remember your child’s progress, a few things are saved locally in your browser’s or the app’s own storage on your device:
- Player profiles (a nickname you choose and an avatar color)
- Progress — stars earned, games unlocked, and levels reached
- Collectibles opened and which are equipped
- Settings, such as sound volume and any play-time limit
This information never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data, or using a different device or browser, will reset it.
What we do not use
- No third-party analytics or advertising services
- No advertising, and no in-app purchases
- No tracking cookies or cross-site tracking of any kind
- No access to the device camera, microphone, contacts, or location
The voices in the game are pre-recorded audio files bundled with the game; the microphone is never used.
Hosting
The web version is served as static files from a content-delivery network. Like almost all web servers, the host may process standard, non-identifying technical request logs (such as the type of file requested) to deliver the page and guard against abuse. These logs are not used to build a profile of your child and are not combined with any personal data, because none is collected.
Children’s privacy
Because we collect no personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). There is nothing for a parent to review, delete, or opt out of, because nothing is gathered in the first place. If you believe this has somehow not been the case, please contact us and we will investigate.
Changes to this policy
If TinyBright ever adds a feature that would change what is collected — for example optional accounts or cloud sync — we will update this policy and describe the change clearly before that feature is turned on.
